The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS; Korean: 식품의약품안전처; Hanja: 食品醫藥品安全處; RR: Sikpumuiyakpumanjeoncheo), formerly known as the Korea Food & Drug Administration (KFDA; Korean: 식품의약품안전청), is a government agency responsible for promoting the public health by ensuring the safety and efficiency of foods, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and cosmetics as well as supporting the development of the food and pharmaceutical industries in South Korea. The main goal is to offer people safe foods and drugs.
The headquarters are located in the Osong Health Technology Administration Complex in Cheongju, North Chungcheong Province.[1]
