Quick Facts Country, Province ...

Although host to an international airport, La Mercy is a small suburb, with no shopping center or public transport to speak of; severely lacking in communal infrastructure such as pavements and public parks. La Mercy also has a very dilapidated infrastructure, nothing has been maintained in the past 30 years, and there are constant issues with electricity and water, since the 2022 floods, nothing has been properly repaired. The Ethekweni municipality is one of the worst performing municipalities in South Africa.

There is one under-utilised primary school (La Mercy Primary), two hotels (La Mercy Beach Hotel and Seabelle) with restaurants, two shops, and a community hall.
