• - Inauguration of the Fruntimmersföreningens flickskola in Gothenburg, a school founded to educate women to self-supporting professionals and the third to offer serious education to women.^[1]
• - Sophie Daguin and André Isidore Carey are recruited to the Royal Swedish Ballet.
