The 1973 French Open was a tennis tournament that took place on the outdoor clay courts at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris, France. The tournament ran from 21 May until 3 June. It was the 77th staging of the French Open, and the second Grand Slam tennis event of 1973.[4][5] Ilie Năstase and Margaret Court won the singles titles.

Romania Ilie Năstase[lower-alpha 1] defeated Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia Nikola Pilić, 6–3, 6–3, 6–0 [1]

• It was Năstase's 2nd and last career Grand Slam singles title and his 1st and only title at the French Open.

Women's singles

Australia Margaret Court defeated United States Chris Evert,[lower-alpha 2] 6–7, 7–6, 6–4 [2]

• It was Newcombe's 14th career Grand Slam doubles title and his 3rd and last title at the French Open.
• It was Okker's 1st career Grand Slam doubles title and his 1st and only title at the French Open.
