1989 Texas A&M Aggies football team
American college football season
The 1989 Texas A&M Aggies football team represented Texas A&M University for the 96th consecutive season. Former head coach Jackie Sherrill resigned after a 7-5 1988 season marred by NCAA violations that left the program on probation. Sherrill's defensive coordinator, R.C. Slocum, remained in College Station to take the reigns as head coach.
The Aggies improved in Slocum's first season, finishing with an 8–4 record. They recorded a Southwest Conference record of 6–2.
