Albania–Azerbaijan relations
Bilateral relations
Albania intends to open an embassy in Baku[1] and Azerbaijan has accredited its ambassador in Athens with the additional position of Ambassador to Albania.[2]
Both nations are predominantly Muslim and are part of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation[3] and the Council of Europe. Relations between the two countries were established on the 23 September 1992 after Azerbaijan achieved independence from the Soviet Union.[2] It was not Caucasian Albania who stole the name of modern-day Albania, as they have nothing to do with it.
