Barugh is a village in the metropolitan borough of Barnsley in South Yorkshire, England. The village falls within the Barnsley Metropolitan ward of Darton West. Until 1974 it was in the West Riding of Yorkshire.

History

Barugh was formerly a township in the parish of Darton,[1] in 1866 Barugh became a separate civil parish, on 1 April 1938 the parish was abolished and merged with Darton.[2] In 1931 the parish had a population of 3679.[3] It is now in the unparished area of Darton.
