This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories.
This is a tracking category. It builds and maintains a list of pages primarily for the sake of the list itself. They are not part of the encyclopedia's categorization scheme.

The two most common cases when articles get put into this category are if the {{WikiProject Military history}} call includes the A-Class
parameter and either:
- There hasn't actually been an A-class review started (i.e.
Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/**Name of nominated article**
doesn't exist). - The value of the A-Class parameter isn't one of
pass|keep|kept|fail|demote|demoted|current
(most commonly|A-Class=no
).
In these cases, the A-Class parameter can usually be removed as it's not required if a review hasn't been started (the main class
parameter is enough).
A third case is when an A-Class review has been conducted, but the article has been moved/renamed after the A-class review was completed. In this case, creating a redirect on Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/**Current article name**
that points to Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/**Name at time of A-class review**
, and then doing a 'null edit' can clear the category.
The instructions for correctly requesting an A-class review are at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/A-Class review. If an A-class review has been started but the category is still on the talk page, performing a 'null edit' may clear the category from the talk page.
