Premier women's volleyball league in the Czech Republic


The Czech Women's Volleyball Extraliga or in (Czech Česká volejbalová extraliga žen) is a women's volleyball competition organized by the Czech Volleyball Association (Český volejbalový svaz, ČVS). It was created in 1992, just after the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.[1] [2]

Competition formula

11 teams participated in the 2022/23 Championship in Extralig: « Dukla » (Liberec), « Kralovo Field » (Brno), « Prosteyov », « Shelms » (Brno), « Olympus » (Prague), « Olomouc », Ukrainian team « Prometheus » , « Ostrava », « Falcon » (Frydek Mistek), « Prcherov », « Falcon » (Sternberk). The champion title was won by « Kralovo Pole », who won « Shelma » 3-2 (3: 2, 2: 3, 3: 2, 0: 3, 3: 0) in the final series. 3rd place was taken by « Dukla ».

Names History

The Championship currently funded by the insurance company UNIQA which is one of the 10 largest insurance companies in the Czech Republic, and is officially known as UNIQA Extraliga Ženy
