Exacerbation

Exacerbation

An exacerbation, in medicine, is the worsening of a disease or an increase in its symptoms.[1] Examples includes an acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and acute exacerbation of congestive heart failure.[citation needed]
