Summary

Description
English: Animation of three precovery images of Jupiter's irregular moon S/2017 J 1 (Jupiter LIX), taken by Christian Veillet with the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope's MegaPrime CCD camera on 8 September 2010. Each image was taken approximately 12-15 minutes apart, showing the moon's motion relative to the faint background galaxies. The other faster moving object in this image is a foreground asteroid. The raw image datasets used are 1235641p, 1235645p, and 1235650p. The moon's location on those dates were given by Ashton et al. (2020) , and can be viewed in the Aladin Sky Atlas .
