The Advertising Record , recorded by Len Spencer circa 1906.

The recording begins, “I am the Edison phonograph …” , and explains the novel benefits of the phonograph from the first person perspective of the machine. A very early landmark of advertising in modern media, this was played widely in shops to entice customers.
