- Motiv: Felsformation ( Ágios Pávlos - Faltung ) - Die Felsen „zeigen eine Wechselfolge von Kalklagen mit Chertlagen in der Pindosdecke des kretischen Deckenstapels. Durch die alpidische Faltentektonik wurden diese ehemals in einem tieferen Meeresbecken (dem Pindosozean) abgelagerten Sedimente deformiert. Sie sind eines der am meisten auf Kreta fotografierten geologischen Objekte Kretas überhaupt.“ (Zitat von uni-bayreuth.de , Dr. Andreas Peterek)
