English: Astronaut John Glenn, Jr. is honored by President John F. Kennedy after his historical first manned orbital flight. The ceremony is being held at Hanger S at Cape Canaveral, where the Manned Spacecraft Center had its facilties; the MSC would open its permanent headquarters in Houston in September 1963.
