Description
English: The Bates Hall is the main reading room of the Boston Public Library, and is situated in the library's McKim Building. Named for the library's first great benefactor, Joshua Bates, the hall has vaulted high ceilings and half domes, walls lined with English oak bookcases, and busts of eminent authors and Bostonians.
