Illus dpd Start zum 50-Kilometer-Gehen: 23 Mann waren am Start zum 50 Kilometer-Gehen angetreten, das auf der letzten Olympiade von dem Engländer Whitlook so überraschend gewonnen werden konnte. Auf der diesjährigen Olympiade gelang es dem Sieger, dem Schweden Ljunggren (Nr.398) nicht, den damaligen Rekord zu unterbieten. Er erreichte nur 4 Std. , 41 Minuten, 52 Sekunden gegenüber dem olympischen Rekord von 1936 mit 4 Std., 30 Minuten, 41,4 Sekunden. Zweiter wurde der Schweizer Godel. Dritter der Engländer Johnson. 2-8-48 1900-48 |
