Русский:
21 сентября 1781 года (ПСЗ № 15236) Полоцк получил герб (вместе с другими гербами городов Полоцкого наместничества): «Щит разрезан на двое: в верхней части онаго в золотом поле Российской Империи половина Государственного герба двуглавого орла [именно такой порядок слов в ПСЗ...], а в нижней части в серебряном поле старый Полоцкий герб: на коне воин, держащий в правой руке саблю, а на левой руке надетый красный щит с двойным на оном крестом. Герб Государственный, поставленный над гербом Полоцким, означает подданство в России сего города с принадлежащими к Полоцкому наместничеству городами».
