Object history
English: Coat of arms of the Danish town Skagen. The grill symbolises St. Lawrence to whom the town's first church (destroyed by sand drift in the 18th century) was dedicated. The grill appears on town seals from the oldest known seal from 1535. The fish was added later and symbolises fisheries which historically was the town's main source of income.
