Description
English: A medal with the likeness of "Fra Mauro of the Venetian monastery of St. Michael in Murano, of the Camaldolese Orden, an incomparable cosmographer". Produced ca. 1459, soon after Fra Mauro's death. The medal has been attributed by some researchers to Giovanni Boldù. It is presently in the City Museum of Venice. (See Piero Falchetta (2006), p. 145).
