دیوار بزرگ اسکندر یا دیوار سرخ که در متون قدیمی با نام مار سرخ نیز نامیده‌شده‌است ، دیواری تاریخی است که از کنار دریای خزر در ناحیه گمیشان آغاز شده و تا کوه‌های گلیداغ در شمال شرق کلاله ادامه می‌یافته‌است. هم‌اکنون تقریباً تمام این دیوار از میان رفته‌است و تنها بخش‌های کوچکی از آن که در زیر خاک مدفون مانده، باقی است. دیوار تاریخی گرگان پس از دیوار چین (به طول شش هزار کیلومتر) ، بزرگترین دیوار دفاعی جهان است. این دیوار عظیم تاریخی که ۲۰۰ کیلومتر طول دارد در ۲۹ تیرماه سال ۱۳۷۸ به ثبت ملی رسیده‌است.

The Great Wall of Iskandar or the Red Wall, which is also called the Red Snake in old texts, is a historical wall that started from the Caspian Sea in the Gamishan area and continued to the Glidagh Mountains in the northeast of Kalaleh. Now almost all of this wall is gone and only small parts of it are left buried under the soil. The historic wall of Gorgan is the largest defensive wall in the world after the Great Wall of China (six thousand kilometers long). This huge historic wall, which is 200 kilometers long, was registered in the national register on July 29, 1378.
