A luthier tunes the bridge of a violin. It is important that all parts of an acoustic musical instrument have the same resonance (frequency). With a small “tuning stick” he clicks on the bridge and with his hearing he can determine if the bridge has the right resonance.

En instrumentmakare stämmer stallet till en fiol. Det är viktigt att alla delar i ett akustiskt musikinstrument har samma resonans (frekvens). Med en liten “stämmpinne” knäpper han på stallet och med sitt gehör kan han avgöra om stallet har den rätta resonansen.
