BORN IN 1893 IN KENYA-kiambu county.He went to Thogoto mission school in 1909 and was baptised by Johnstone.He worked as a water reader.He became a member of KCA in 1924 and became first secretary general in 1928.He was the editor of KCA's paper.He spoke against the undermining of African culture and contributed much in the establishment of independent churches and schools.While in london he published his first book 'facing mount Kenya'
