Description |
English:
The actual sculpture that was scanned from a copy of Josephus' 'The Jewish War' dated 1888.
Voir P. Plagnieux,
Les sculptures Romanes
Dossiers d'Archéologie, (janvier 2001), p.15 ; Magen Broshi,
Bread, Wine, Walls and Scrolls
p. 46-49 ;
.).

Depicted people | Josephus (It has become "Corbulo" (Emperor Nero's general, Domitius Corbub); R. Eisler gave it the name Flavius Josephus (the Roman historian 37-100 AD) p.gr.a. the Jewish physiognomy. Mustache and goatee are only slightly indicated. The beard has probably been indicated with paint. A reasonable naming does not seem possible.) |
