It is a facsimile of the frontispiece of: Leguat, François (1708), Voyage et avantures de François Leguat & de ses compagnons en deux isles desertes des Indes Orientales . 2 Volumes., London: Mortier.
Shows his settlement in Rodrigues, with tortoises, rats, crabs, a Rodrigues Solitaire and a lizard on a palm trunk. The tortoises are evidently this small species with the domed carapace, the Domed Rodrigues Giant Tortoise.
