Parliament_Hill_from_a_Hot_Air_Balloon,_Ottawa,_Ontario,_Canada,_Y2K_(7173715788).jpg

Summary

Description I took this twelve years ago with my first digital camera, a CAD$700 1.3MP Olympus point and shoot-- practically a Kodak Brownie by today's standards. The image was rescued from a "shoebox" of CDR. This was taken before the Parliament buildings underwent considerable restoration of the exterior: repairs to the fragile and weathered sandstone and replacement of the heavily oxidized copper rooftops. It was also before September-11-- before all the security barricades and RCMP cars that we have today. You an see the Rideau Canal locks to the left (partially cropped), the National Arts Centre (NAC) at the top left.
