Discovered in 1919 in the village Olszówka in Greater Poland. The shape of the helm, with its high top in the form of a tube, is known as
shishak
, derived from the Ottoman Turkish
çiçak (chichak)
helmet. This type of the helmet had an ancient oriental origin. The top of the Polish shishak was demaged during World War II.
