Summary
Description Relief SS Domenic and Catherine.jpg |
English:
White marble relief of saints Dominic and Catherine receiving the rosary from Our Lady. A shrine with votive candle holder in the parish church of St Thomas, the Apostle, Laurel Lodge / Carpenterstown in Fingal. The building was deserted on the occasion due to level 5 lockdown restrictions on religious services. The reliefwas donated by the Dominican Sisters in Dún Laoghaire when sadly their convent there closed down. It was carved in the late 19th century by Padraig and Willie Pearse's father in his stoneworks at "Great Brunswick Street" (or Pearse Street as it is currently known).
