Description
English: Late 9th Century silver annular brooch , 9.5 cm in length, found near Roscrea , Co Tipperary. It is of a classical Irish design and craftsmanship , but uses Viking materials and technology, particularly silver and amber. It is thus is of great archelogical importance as it shows a fusion of the two traditions. It is on display at the National Museum of Ireland . [1] It is object number 38 of A History of Ireland in 100 Objects .
