English: Scanning electron photomicrograph of the test of the benthic rotaliid foraminifera Elphidium crispum Linnaeus, 1758, showing a cross-sectional view of the test. Note the globular nanograins that make up the wall of the test, giving it a "hyaline" texture. Also note the bilamellar test wall. Arrows indicate pores. Scale bar = 2 micrometres.
