Summary

Description
English: Animation showing the Graham or deadbeat escapement in motion. This mechanism, invented by Richard Towneley around 1675 and first widely used by clockmaker George Graham beginning in 1715, is the escapement used in most pendulum clocks today. The clock's wheels turn the escape wheel whose pointed teeth give pushes to the anchor piece above it, so the anchor swings back and forth. The rod hanging from the anchor piece is attached to the clock's pendulum, and give it pushes to keep it going.
This animation is very large, with 174 frames, and may not work in some renderers
