Description
English: The Shroud of Charlemagne, a polychrome crimson-hued silk with a pattern showing a quadriga , Byzantine, 8th or 9th century. Paris, musée national du Moyen Âge. This section was cut in 1850 from the shroud in the Aachen Cathedral Treasury, where a section of about the same dimensions remains.
