Notes

  • Attendances for Swindon Town were recorded from 1889 onwards.
  • Spike between 1910-15 correlates with the team winning the Dubonnet Cup and Southern Charity Cup, appearing in two FA Cup semi-finals and being crowned champions of the Southern League .
  • No football was played during World War I .
  • Trough begins at 1939 on start of World War II , football was played until 1940 even though the League was suspended. Games resumed in 1945.
  • The post war spikes correlate with the team reaching Round 5 of the FA Cup in 1952 and 1963.
  • The spike beginning at 1965 represents increased attendance up to the successful 1969 promotion and League Cup , Anglo-Italian Cup and Anglo-Italian League Cup wins.
