Summary
Description The Khyber Pass - geograph.org.uk - 214532.jpg |
English:
The Khyber Pass,
Hull
,
East Riding of Yorkshire
, England.
A view of the Khyber Pass folly in Hull's East Park, built during the expansion of the original 1887 park which continued from 1913 until the early 1930s. The folly originally included one of the 17th century stone watchtowers from Hull Citadel but this was removed towards the end of the 20th century when it was considered unsafe. The watchtower has been reinstalled on or close to its original site at Drypool near the mouth of the River Hull (see TA1028 : Citadel watchtower, Hull ). |
