Summary
| Description | Greece is the last European air force to still operate the C-47, with two examples still soldiering on. This, obviously, is one of them. Unfortunately it was very late in the day by the time we got to Thessaloniki so the quality isn't great. The serial number, 49-2622 indicates that it is one of a batch specially rebuilt from older airframes for export. It was built in Dallas as C-47A-90-DL 43-16008, was registered in the US as NC15836 then N15836 before becoming 49-2622. One of t he most important aeroplanes ever built, |
