Slavic and Late Bronze Age Urnfield site to the west of the river Kamp and Gars am Kamp. This site, excavated in the 1980s by Vienna University, is an extension of the Greater Moravian Empire into what was to become Austria in the 7th and 8th centuries. Some of the banks (“Schanzberg”) on the site are Late Bronze Age (1050-800 BC) and seem to have been incoporated into the later defences. The gatehouse of the Slavic settlement and its box Ramparts have been reconstructed.
