Summary

Description
English: This green space is the site of Towneley Colliery on the southern side of Burnley, Lancashire. The mine operated from 1869 until 1949 and the company also operated a fire clay and later, brick works here. Today part of the site has been used for housing but the area which contained the pithead buildings has been turned into a small park.
