Summary

Description The U.S. president Harry S. Truman and foreign minister James Byrnes acknowledge honours rendered by the British Hunt-class destroyer HMS Hambledon (L37) which had escorted U.S. cruiser USS Augusta (CA-31) to the River Scheldt in the Netherlands on 15 August 1945. Truman and Byrnes were traveling to the Potsdam Conference in Germany.
