Description
English: Image depicting concept design of never created en:U.S. Air Force Chief en:Warrant Officer 5 rank. This rank insignia is purely a speculation of what the rank might have looked like if Air Force Warrant Officer ranks had survived. The U.S. Air Force discontinued warrant officers ranks in 1959, long before the other branches eventually created a new CWO5 rank.

The design was based on the thin colored line centered on the bar that is used for the CWO5 rank by the other services with their respective colors. The light blue stripe is used here because that is the color used on the old Air Force warrant officer ranks WO1-CWO4.

The last Air Force Reserve warrant officer, CWO-4 Bob Barrow, retired in en:1992 . Upon his retirement, he was honorarily promoted to CWO-5.
