On 6 April 2011, the ESO Paranal Observatory was honoured with a visit from the President of the Czech Republic, Václav Klaus. In this photograph, taken on the summit of Cerro Paranal, the ESO Director General shows President Klaus and his wife Livia Klausová the nearby mountaintop of Cerro Armazones, selected as the site for the E-ELT. From right to left are: ESO Director General, Tim de Zeeuw, President Václav Klaus, Livia Klausová, and the ESO Representative in Chile, Massimo Tarenghi.
