Description

Model of the Northumberland House Glass Drawing Room
Scale 1:32
This model shows the Glass Drawing Room at Northumberland House as it was completed to Robert Adam's designs in 1775 and before it was altered and enlarged in 1820. The desired effect of glittering splendour was achieved by mirrors, foil-backed glass panels and a lavish use of gilded wood and metal.
