Ew sembola berxwedana aştîxwaz ya Kurdan li Tirkiyê ye. Li sala 1995ê, Parlementoya Ewropayê xelatê navdarê Saxarof Xelat da Leylayê, lê heta sala 2004ê ew ji ber zîndanîbûna xwe neşîya wî xelatî werbigirit.

ليلى زانا (من مواليد 3 مايو 1961) هي سياسية كردية تتحدث الكردية بعد أن أدت اليمين كعضو في البرلمان التركي، وسُجنت في تركيا بسبب قضيتها الكردية وجهودها السياسية. إنه رمز للمقاومة السلمية للأكراد في تركيا. في عام 1995، منح البرلمان الأوروبي ليلى جائزة سخاروف، لكن لم تحصل على الجائزة حتى عام 2004 بسبب سجنها.
