German Assyriologist (1862–1931)
Heinrich Zimmern (14 July 1862, in Graben – 17 February 1931, in Leipzig) was a German Assyriologist. He was the first professor of Assyriology at Leipzig University,[1] and considered the founder of the discipline of the history of the ancient Near Eastern religions in Germany.[2]
