District in Ardabil province, Iran


Hir District (Persian: بخش هیَر) is in Ardabil County, Ardabil province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Hir.[3]

At the 2006 census, its population was 23,547 in 4,963 households.[4] The following census in 2011 counted 21,709 people in 5,692 households.[5] At the latest census in 2016, the district had 19,282 inhabitants living in 5,659 households.[2]

In July 2019, the village of Arallu was elevated to the status of a city.[6]
