Kagadi District is a district in the Western Region of Uganda.[1][2]

Location

The district is bordered by Ntoroko District to the west, Hoima District to the north, Kibaale District to the east, and Kyenjojo District to the south.[3] The town of Kagadi, where the district headquarters are located, is approximately 250 kilometres (155 mi) north-west of Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.[4] This is about 92 kilometres (57 mi) south-west of Hoima, the nearest large city.[5]

Overview

The district was created on 1 July 2012 when Kibaale District was subdivided to create the current Kagadi, Kakumiro, and Kibaale districts.[6] The district administration began to function on 1 July 2016.[7]
