The constituency covers the eastern portion of the Falkirk council area and the western portion of the West Lothian council area.

Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat will be subject to boundary changes, which will entail the loss of the areas in Falkirk council. As a consequence, it will be renamed Bathgate and Linlithgow, to be first contested at the next general election.^[1]^[2]
