[vice-1] The position of "Vice President" was created along with the position of "President" in 1826. The Vice President served to replace the President in case of the latter's death or absence. The post was abolished with the Constitution of 1833 and since then the title of "Vice President" has been given to an ex officio member replacing the elected President.

[2] Did not take office and instead resigned immediately, but this was not accepted by Congress. Continued to be de jure Vice-President until the abolition of the post with a new Constitution in 26 May 1833.
