Manny Marroquin (born September 21, 1971) is a Guatemalan-American record mixing engineer.^[1] He has worked with artists and acts in the pop, R&B, hip hop and rock genres, including Rihanna, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift, Rosalía, The Weeknd, Justin Bieber, Post Malone, Bruno Mars, John Mayer, 2Pac, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, John Legend, Alicia Keys, Sia, Lana Del Rey, Troye Sivan, and Linkin Park.

As of 2023, Marroquin has received thirteen Grammy Awards for his professional audio work.^[2] Marroquin resides in Los Angeles, California, and works from Larrabee Studios.

Marroquin's family moved to Los Angeles, California when he was nine years old due to the Guatemalan Civil War. After graduating from Alexander Hamilton High School in Los Angeles, he began working at Enterprise Studios as a runner and worked his way up to an engineering position.^[1] His professional breakthrough came during a late night studio session when a producer asked him to do a rough mix. The producer was impressed with Marroquin's work and asked him to mix the entire album, although the album was eventually not released. Furthermore, he is now the owner of Larrabee Studios, a studio that has been a leader in the Los Angeles music industry for over 50 years and has hosted many of the leading artists from yesterday and today. Larrabee has an indisputable reputation for being one of the top recording and mixing facilities in the world. Above this, he is also the owner of Verse Restaurant in North Hollywood. The vision of this modern-day supper club comes through the ears and eyes of 18-time Grammy-winning mixer himself. His dream has always been to create a recording studio big enough to fit a restaurant in. Through him, VERSE LA enlisted the best in the industry to provide a dining experience like none other. 52 speakers treat guests to a fully immersive environment that blends perfect acoustics, enabling private conversation while enjoying live performances. Soon enough, Manny will have opened his second studio that will actually be a residential space for artists this upcoming 2024. ^[3]

Marroquin won his first Grammy in 2000 for Mary Mary's album, Thankful. In 2004, he received two Grammys for Album of the Year for Kanye West's The College Dropout, and Alicia Keys' The Diary of Alicia Keys. He won another Grammy for his work on the album Get Lifted by John Legend In 2005, and Battle Studies by John Mayer in 2011. The Grammy Museum, which opened in Los Angeles in December 2008, acknowledged Marroquin's musical achievement with its mixing exhibit. The interactive exhibit allowed players to mix a track under the guidance of Marroquin.^[4]

In 2013, Marroquin partnered with Waves Audio to release a signature collection of virtual instrument effects that includes EQ, Delay, Reverb, Tone Shaper, Triple D & Distortion plugins.^[5] He currently works from Larrabee Sound Studio 2 in Los Angeles.^[6]

The Grammy Awards are presented annually by The Recording Academy.^[7] Marroquin has received 18 wins from 38 nominations as of 2023.^[8][9][10]
