The Northern Ireland Act 2009 (c 3) is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It makes provision preparatory to the intended devolution of "policing and justice" to the Northern Ireland Assembly.[2]

The whole Act has been brought into force.[3]
Sections 1 and 3(2) and 4 and 5 came into force on 12 March 2009.[4]
Paragraphs 35(1) and (3) of Schedule 4, so far as they relate to the President or other member of the Charity Tribunal for Northern Ireland, and section 2(3), so far as it relates to those provisions, came into force on 26 September 2009.[5]

- The citation of this Act by this short title is authorised by section 5(1) of this Act.
