  1. Murali's last name has generally been romanized as "Muralitharan" since the start of his career. However, he prefers to romanize his name as "Muralidaran". When Cricket Australia commissioned the trophy, it asked Murali to clarify how his name should be spelled, and the trophy uses his preferred romanization.
