Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation
Canadian trade union
The Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation (also abbreviated as STF) is a professional association and trade union representing over 13,500 schoolteachers in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan as of 2022[update].[1][5][6] The organization's headquarters is located in Saskatoon.[4]
On January 11, 2024, the union announced a strike,[7] following a third-party conciliator report suggesting teachers and the provincial government "could bargain class size and complexity" — something the government has insisted is not up for negotiation, preferring to focus on compensation.
Following January 11, the union had another strike on January 22, eventually leading to rotating teacher strikes.[8]
On April 05 2024, the STF announced indefinite work-to-rule would begin the following Monday on April 08, meaning that all extracurricular activities, and other voluntary work done by STF, such as noon hour supervision, would be withdrawn for the foreseeable future.[9][10]
